Kitchen Cupboard Make-Over: After

Kitchen Planning

One of the original uncluttering space optimization systems from when our Mom’s had the same problems we have now! Tupperware.

Our kitchen cupboard after converting it to a dry pantry. Called in the help of a tupperware lady to help us "re-zone" the kitchen. We now have a recession- and cooking process friendly dry pantry. Everything visible, uncluttered, sealed against pests, stored in larger (cheaper) quantities, sealed for freshness, within reach, etc. The bottles and cans were moved to another shelf under our staircase.

The key was to move the shelving heights to maximize better match container heights.

Kitchen Plans and Personal Ideas

Article by John Bakers

You will find that when it comes to the home, you will want only to display the best. That is why people tend to fill their home with useless stuff that they didn’t need in the first place. You will find that there are a lot of things that reflect who you are, such as your car or the way you dress, but the home defines who you are. When someone walks into the kitchen they almost get a sense of who you are. It is very important that you remodel the kitchen when buying an older home, because it needs to display who you are exactly. You will also find that there are a lot of ways that you can define who you are through choosing a good décor theme.

You will also find that it is very important that you make the kitchen look good and that you update it in a functioning way. You will want to consider the fact that your kitchen will need to not only look good, but function. That is why you will need to update an older kit. Not only will you gather around each other in the kitchen, but you will also be sharing your kitchen with others that you love. It is the place where you will entertain and it is also a place where you will work. It is very important that you are able to look around and see bits of yourself.

First, you will want to sit down and start thinking about things that you would like your kitchen to look like. It is very important that you focus on things like the kitchen appliances and that you also look at the function of your current applicants. There will be things like the microwave that may need to be replaced for safety reasons. You will also want to think about how you see the kitchen in the next five years.

You may want to do more than just add a new coat of paint to the walls. You may want to break down some walls to open the kitchen up. Even if you don’t have an interior designer by your side, you will want to do something that would be appreciated by friends and family members. Of course, you will need to consider what the trends are right now, but allow your own tastes to make the major decisions.

It is very important that you be open to the different ideas and suggestions. You will want to look through the magazines, go online, and also do some drawing in order to make the plans seem a bit more like you. You will find that family and friends will look at your home differently when you give a room, like the kitchen, life.

I expect a gift from Tupperware soon for this shameless promotion.. LOL!

  2. rivadock4 says:

I would think that you deserve a little something for this..
It does look much better. And more sanitary.

  3. Pieter Pieterse says:

I actually cooked myself a polenta tonight! Normally the bag is somewhere under everyting and I drive to the shop for something else. Also using more of my spices now that they are not standing behind each-other.

  4. rivadock4 says:

I just called the Tupperware people but they didn’t open for three hours.
But I will have my order in by noon.

  5. Pieter Pieterse says:

We actually had a lady over to check everything in our cupboard vs. our projected usage, whereafter she suggested the sizes to suit. For instance, we were buying up to four boxes of pasta flour a month. Now we just put 4kg’s at once in the container at the beginning of the month.

”sealed for…sexy”?? (sexy = sexual) Really? I wonder what that can be.
This looks a bit too good for me. It’s very neat but I like to see the design of the many different packages. That is maybe not ”sexy” but to me that is more organic, more alive in a way.

  7. maurice flower says:

A fine presentation. Thank you for sharing.

  8. Pieter Pieterse says:

No Worries, Maurice, you’re right. I changed the text a bit. It didn’t read as intended…

Great before and after shots! The containers really do make all the difference…so much better than rolled up bags and other stuff.

How much did you spend to get all this done? My wife’s got the tupperware bug, but it is a recession, and money is tight after all.

This is possibly the worst software ever written. Impossible to use, The help section is worthless, zero support, totally non-intuitive. Don’t waste your money.

Absolutlely useless – have to register product and run thru a bunch of hoops and then It dosen’t work worth a squat. Have better luck downloading a free program.
